Interagency agreements

We occasionally enter into agreements with other organizations and government agencies in order to conduct business effectively. To view a list of all our current interagency agreements, see:

Types of interagency agreements

Most of our interagency agreements fall into one of the following categories:

  • Subagent agreements that authorize county auditors and other organizations to provide vehicle licensing services as agents for the Department of Licensing (DOL).
  • Data sharing agreements that allow us to share information with law enforcement, the courts, and other government agencies as necessary.
  • Agreements with professional boards and associations that establish quality guidelines for professional licensing and recordkeeping, including education requirements and examinations.
  • Licensing reciprocity agreements with other states or countries that allow people who move to Washington to transfer qualified licenses to this state.
