State conducts home inspector license study

OLYMPIA — The Department of Licensing is conducting a study of the home inspection industry and its possible need for regulation. Two public hearings have been scheduled for the public and industry stakeholders to provide their comments and concerns.

The department will submit a report to the Legislature by December 1, including a recommendation as to whether or not regulation of the profession is needed to protect the public from harm.

Public hearings are scheduled for:

  • June 13 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Criminal Justice Training Commission in Burien, located at 19010 1st Avenue South.
  • July 11 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Department of Transportation North Central Regional HQ in Wenatchee, located at 1551 North Wenatchee Ave.
