How to renew your license: Appraisers and appraiser trainees

The Washington State Legislature has not yet approved state operating and capital budgets for the 2017–19 biennium, which begins July 1. If the Legislature does not approve budgets by June 30, several state agencies will go through full or partial operations shutdowns. Things to know

  • License expires every 2 years on your birthday
  • You can renew 120 days before your license expires

Before you renew

  • To avoid removal from lenders’ lists or other issues, we recommend you renew early.
  • Have your required continuing education completed: 28 hours including 7‑hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). You’ll need to provide your certificate of completion.
  • Be ready to answer criminal history questions and provide documents if needed.
