Intern Development Program: Architects

The Intern Development Program (IDP) is a mandatory requirement in Washington State for the Architect Registration Exam (ARE). You may begin taking the exams while enrolled in IDP.

  • If you have questions about enrollment in IDP, please contact the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). It’s important to remember that the NCARB IDP training requirements are different than those established by the Washington State Board for Architects.
