When to renew

You must renew your auctioneer or auction company license every year.

How to renew

If you received a renewal notice in the mail and your license is about to expire or has expired:

  1. Submit all of the following:
    • The bottom portion of the renewal notice.
    • A check or money order for the fee (payable to the Department of Licensing).
    • A completed Financial Certification Affidavit. The form is included with your renewal notice, or you can find it on page 3 of the Auctioneer/Auction Company Registration Application.
  2. Use the envelope provided to mail the renewal notice, affidavit and fee to:

    Seattle, WA 98124-3856

If you didn’t receive a renewal notice and your license is about to expire or has expired:

  1. Submit all of the following:
    • A letter that includes:
      • Your name.
      • Your current mailing address.
      • The type of license you’re renewing.
      • Your license number or birth date.
    • A completed Financial Certification Affidavit. The form is included with your renewal notice, or you can find it on page 3 of the Auctioneer/Auction Company Registration Application.
    • A check or money order for the fee (payable to the Department of Licensing).
  2. Send the letter, affidavit, and fee to:
