How to get your license: Cemeteries

• Contact the city or county where the property is located to see if it can be used for a cemetery.
• Deposit $25,000 in an endowment care fund before selling or disposing of any plots. (RCW 68.40.010)
• Dedicate the cemetery property.
• Make sure the new cemetery will be operated by a corporation organized for that purpose, including adopting by-laws (RCW 68.20.010).
• Submit an application to the Cemetery Board for authority to operate.
