Who needs a license?
The City of Long Beach requires all businesses located within the city limits, or who conduct business within the city limits, to be licensed with the city. City approval is required for initial issuance.
Exempt businesses
Some businesses may be exempt from getting a city business license. For more information, please contact the city directly.
Under what circumstances is a business license denied?
A license may be denied to a business for any of the following reasons:
- If the application is incomplete or if it contains any material misrepresentation.
- If the application does not meet the city’s zoning requirements.
How to apply
- File a Master Business Application online.
- OR
- Mail us the appropriate fee with the following completed forms:
