Examination description

The audio/video examination begins with a 2-minute warm-up segment (not required for transcription), followed by 2 two-voice question and answer testimonies given at 200 words per minute. Each testimony is 7 minutes long. At least one is required for transcription.

Grading

A 5-minute consecutive segment of the testimony you choose to transcribe is graded. Passing score is 95% accuracy.

Transcribing

• Candidates may choose to use either the computers available at the test site or their own transcription equipment.
• Test site software includes Microsoft Word 2003 for Windows.
• Computer disks will not be provided.
• The computer lab will be staffed with technicians for assistance.
