Educator updates: Home inspectors

New approved education provider

American Home Inspectors Training Institute has been approved to provide the Fundamentals of Home Inspection course. To get more information about the company, and see a complete list of approved course providers, see Approved course providers.

Home inspector course approval application available

The Adobe PDF iconHome Inspector Course Approval Application is now available online. Use this application to apply for approval of the prelicense course, Fundamentals of Home Inspection, or continuing education courses.

To be approved, the Fundamentals of Home Inspection course must:

  • Use the board-approved Adobe PDF iconFundamentals of Home Inspection Course Curriculum. Incomplete courses won’t be approved.
  • Include at least 120 clock hours of instruction.
  • Include an exam and key with at least 200 questions.
  • Be a live lecture course. Online or distance education courses won’t be approved.
