How to renew your license: Home inspectors

Deadlines

You must renew your license on or before the expiration date printed on the license. We will mail you a renewal notice and attached affidavits about 60 days before your license renewal date.

  • If we don’t receive your license renewal on or before the renewal date, you must pay a penalty fee.
  • You have 1 year from the expiration date of your license to renew, or your license will be cancelled.

You are responsible for renewing your license on time. Please be aware of the expiration date on your license, as you will be considered unlicensed when your license is expired.

Requirements

When you renew your license, you must:

  • Provide proof you have completed 24 clock hours of approved home inspector education since you last renewed.
  • Submit a renewal fee.

How to renew

  • Renew by mail by sending your renewal with a check or money order (payable to “Washington State Treasurer”) for the fee to:

We will send your renewed license to the address we have on file within 14 business days.
