How to get your license: Landscape architects

Steps to apply by reciprocity

  1. Submit all of the following items to the appropriate address.
    • Landscape Architect Licensure Application
    • Check or money order payable to the Washington State Treasurer for the reciprocity application fee and initial license fee
    • Completed law review related to the practice of landscape architecture. (See the Instructions for Completing the Requirements for Landscape Architect Licensure in Washington.)
    • National certification (sent directly from CLARB)
    • or
    • All of the following:
      • Official transcripts (sent directly from the college or university).
      • Employment and Experience Verification section (sent directly from your employment verifiers).
      • State certification of completion and scores of one of the following exams (sent directly from the jurisdiction that issued your original license):
        • The Landscape Architect Registration Exam (LARE)
        • or
        • The Uniform National Exam for Landscape Architects (UNE).
      • Certification of a current valid landscape architect license in a recognized jurisdiction (sent directly from the jurisdiction that issued your original license).
  2. Mail your application, fee, and all supporting documents to:
