When to renew

You must renew your notary public certificate every 4 years.

How to renew

1. Get a $10,000 surety bond to cover your next 4-year term.
   • The name on the surety bond should be identical to the name on your renewal notice or reappointment application form.
2. Send us all of the following:
   • Your renewal notice.
     or
     A new, completed Notary Public Appointment or Reappointment Application.
   • A copy of your surety bond. (Please don’t send us your errors and omissions policy.)
   • A check or money order for the $30 fee, payable to the Department of Licensing.
