Submit all of the following to the Business Licensing Service at the address on your renewal notice:
- The renewal notice.
- A check or money order for the appropriate fee (payable to the Department of Revenue).
- Proof of current liability insurance.
If your surety bond is on file, you don’t need to submit proof of that again. |

- Unarmed private investigator

- The renewal notice.
- A check or money order for the appropriate fee (payable to the Department of Licensing).

- Agency principals: Submit all of the following to us at the address on your renewal notice:
- The renewal notice.
- A check or money order for the appropriate fee (payable to the Department of Licensing).
- Individuals: The endorsement renewal is included on the renewal notice for your unarmed or armed investigator license.

Renewal notices
Renewal notices are mailed 45–60 days prior to the expiration date. Renewal notices are a courtesy and it is your responsibility to renew on time.
If you don’t get a renewal notice:
- For an agency, contact Business Licensing Service at 800.451.7985 for a duplicate notice.
- For an individual, complete a Private Investigator License Application, mark the appropriate renewal box, and submit the application with a check or money order for the renewal fee (payable to the Department of Licensing).
