Renew your license: Master business license

When to renew

All specialty licenses available through the Master License Service must be renewed each year. To avoid late renewal penalties, renew your license on or before the expiration date, as determined in the Pacific Time Zone.

License expiration date

An expiration date is printed on the top right-hand corner of your Registration and Licenses document. Master License Service will send you a renewal notice approximately 45 days before your license expires. It is your responsibility to renew on time whether the renewal form is received or not.

How to renew

You may file for renewal by using one of the following options:

  • Renew online using a credit card (American Express, MasterCard or Visa credit or debit cards only). You need the original renewal notice with the company's UBI number and the password.
  •
  • You CANNOT renew online if:
    • you did not receive a password on your Notice to Renew.
    • your name has changed since your last renewal. (Please note any changes on your Notice to Renew before mailing it to us.)
    • you have a suspended or revoked license.
    • your license has been expired for an extended period of time.
  • NOTE: The unavailability of the online renewal system is not grounds for an extension to the filing deadlines. Official filing of an online renewal depends on our receipt of all fees charged to your credit card.
  •
  • Renew by mail using the Master License Renewal form you received with your renewal notice. Mail the completed form to:
    Master License Service
    Department of Licensing
    PO Box 9034
    Olympia, WA 98507-9034

Licenses not handled by Master License Service
