To renew your license, send us all of the following:

  • The renewal notice.
  • The appropriate fee.
  • Proof of current liability insurance.

Unarmed or armed private security guard

To renew your license, send us all of the following:

  • The renewal notice.
  • The appropriate fee.

(Note: Temporary registration cards aren’t to be used for guards with expired licenses.)

Certified trainer endorsement

The endorsement renewal fee is included on the renewal notice for your unarmed or armed security guard license.

Renewal notices

We mail renewals notices 45-60 days before the license expiration date. Renewal notices are a courtesy and it’s the responsibility of the licensee to renew on time.

If you don’t receive a renewal notice, complete a Private Security Guard License Application, mark the appropriate renewal box, and submit the application with a check or money order (payable to the Department of Licensing) for the fee.
