Keep Kids Safe plates

Keep Kids Safe license plates can be purchased by any Washington State vehicle owner. They are available for passenger vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles, and may be transferred from vehicle to vehicle.

How to apply

1. Complete a Special License Plate Application.
2. Contact your local vehicle licensing office to determine the exact cost of your plates, including all licensing and service fees.
3. Submit your completed application and fees:
   • In person at a vehicle licensing office.
   • or

How to renew

To renew, pay all licensing fees plus $30 and:

• Renew online.
• Renew in person at a vehicle licensing office. (An additional service fee may apply.)
• Renew by mail, following the instructions on your vehicle renewal notice.
