EDL/ID office locations

Important information

If you need to apply for an EDL/ID within the next few weeks, please come early and come prepared. Recent federal changes to the identification document requirements at U.S. border crossing stations have greatly increased the demand for the Enhanced Driver Licenses and ID Cards.

Come early: You won’t be able to start an EDL application after 2 p.m. on weekdays or after noon on Saturdays.

You may apply for an Enhanced Driver License/ID Card (EDL/ID) at the following driver licensing offices:

If you are visiting a walk-in location

Please expect some waiting time and arrive early, especially if you are applying with family members. The enhanced application includes a formal documents review and an in-person interview, and takes longer to process.

What to bring with you

Be sure to bring all of the following to the driver licensing office when you apply for your EDL/ID:

Proof of citizenship, identity, and residence
Your Social Security number (You don’t need to show us your Social Security card.)
Cash, check, or money order for the fee
Proof of name change, if your current name is different than the name on any of your citizenship or identity documents
