How to renew your license: Notaries public

Currently notary applications take around 60-90 days to process. We will notify you when we issue your license. We recently upgraded to an online system. Our staff have a higher volume of work as a result. We expect this longer processing time to continue for the next several months. Thank you for your continued patience. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Things to know

  • Notary licenses expire every 4 years.
  • You can renew 120 days before it expires.
  • If your license expires you can’t renew. You must apply.

  • An electronic copy of your signed $10,000 surety bond.
  • Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit or debit card, or bank account information to pay the $30 renewal fee or $45 to add electronic notary endorsement.
