How to get your license: Landscape architect with accredited degree
Use this process if you have a landscape architect degree that is accredited by the Landscape Architect Accreditation Board (LAAB).
How to apply
- Contact the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) (www.clarb.org) to take the Landscape Architect Registration Exam (LARE).
- CLARB will register you for the exam.
- Take and pass all divisions of the LARE.
- If you don’t pass a division of the exam the first time, you may continue to take it until you pass. However, after you pass your first division, you must pass all divisions of the exam within 5 years.
- Complete a Landscape Architect Law Summary Review Exam.
- Have CLARB transmit your CLARB Council Record to the Board.
- Submit your application, either online or by mail:

- Prepare the Law Review Exam for upload.
- Log in or sign up to apply and pay your initial license fees.
- By mail
- Submit all of the following:
- Completed Landscape Architect License Application (complete sections 1, 3, and 5).
- Completed Landscape Architect Law Summary Review Exam (step 4 above).
- A check or money order for the exam and initial license fees (payable to the Department of Licensing).
- Submit all of the following:
