Who needs a license history?

If you have a Washington State real estate broker license, you’ll need a license history or letter of good standing to apply for a license in another state.

You can request your license history online or by mail. Be sure to include any extra forms required from the state you are applying to.

Log into SecureAccess Washington (SAW)

Don't have a SAW account? Learn how to create a SAW account. Then complete the following steps:

  1. Go to the Professional Licenses tab
  2. Select your license number
  3. Select the More Actions button
  4. Select the Request License History button
  5. Follow the steps and pay the $40 fee
  6. Upload any other forms that the other state requires 

We’ll email your license history to you within 10 business days.

Request your license history by mail

Mail a completed License History Request form with a check or money order for the $40 fee (payable to the Department of Licensing) to:

Seattle, WA 98124-3856

Please allow a minimum of 14 days for us to receive your application.

We'll email your license history to you. We can also email it to another state licensing office at your request.

For veterans, military personnel, and partners

Your military experience or training might help you meet licensing requirements. You may also be able to get a temporary license if you're moving here with a current license from another state. Learn more about using your military training to meet professional license requirements.
